Summer 2023: I’m having a very active summer… thanks to renewed inspiration and finding a mirror to my own optimism, which is amplifying the sunny days in my summer! So I am focused on trying some new things I have always been intimidated by and that challenge me. I’ve always been fairly active but I’m now running longer distances than I thought possible and am starting to bike distances too, which I’ve never done! I realized nothing makes me feel stronger than trying new things for the first time and discovering I can master them through practice. Most importantly, I was reminded this summer of what makes me feel most like myself: Feeling like a ‘beginner’ by learning new things. While frustrating at first, nothing makes me feel stronger or more alive. So this summer, I’ve remembered what I always knew: I want to seek out new things to be a beginner at for the rest of my life!
